YMCA of Central East Ontario Works to Reduce Threat of COVID-19 Spread
December 15, 2020

Under the guidance and direction of Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, the YMCA of Central East Ontario, has been actively working since September 1st to implement preventative measures to reduce the threat of COVID-19 spreading within the YMCA of the City of Quinte West.

We learned today that a staff member from the Quinte West Branch has tested positive for COVID-19. This transmission was a result of close contact with a family member. At this point Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has assessed the situation to be of low risk to members, staff and volunteers but an investigation is continuing to ensure the health and safety of all members of the community. We have activated our contact tracing protocols we have in place for members and staff who may have been in contact with the individual. We have also been in contact with our partner at the City of Quinte West.
