NEW for 2019 – 1K Route Option
Great for families, seniors, school teams, individuals with special needs or anyone looking for a shorter distance to walk or run.

The YMCA of Central East Ontario, along with the family of the late Peter Adams, are pleased to announce that the Annual YMCA Winter Run will be renamed ‘The Peter Adams Memorial Winter Run’ on February 24, 2019. As one of the original race directors, Peter was a dedicated and lifelong runner who loved running downtown. YMCA of Central East Ontario President & CEO, David Allen says, “This was an easy decision for our YMCA and our planning team. We are pleased that Jill and Peter’s family agreed to allow us to honour Peter this way.”

This event is in support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, which encourages the healthy growth and development of children, youth and teens in our community.

Participating in this event is not only fun and healthy; it’s providing an important foundation for our youth that will have far reaching benefits for them, their families and our community.

Where the Money Goes

YMCA Strong Kids Campaign

The YMCA Half Marathon, Half a Half, 5K Run/Walk and our Kids 1K Fun Run has raised close to One Million dollars, an average of more than $25,000 per year in support of the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. The YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign is focused on raising much needed financial support for deserving children, teens and families who are unable to afford the full cost of participation in a YMCA program activity.

Participating in this event is not only fun and healthy; it’s providing an important foundation for our youth that will have far reaching benefits for them, their families and our community.
